Ablative Erbium Laser

For dramatically smoother and rejuvenated skin

Ablative erbium laser resurfacing is achieved through the high affinity of the erbium laser to water in the skin which produces a controlled ablation of a very fine layer of skin with each pass. It is this controlled ablation that enables precise control over the treatment intensity so that treatments can be tailored to your specific needs. Ablative erbium laser resurfacing assists in the treatment of:

  • Wrinkle reduction (the greater the number of passes, the deeper the resurfacing of the skin).
  • Acne scarring (particularly good for atrophic or indented acne scars).
  • Pigmentation.
  • Removal of skin lesions such as skin tags, solar keratosis and some moles.
  • Rhinophyma (helps to remove excess tissues on the nose and return it to its normal shape and size).

Post treatment skin will become smoother and refreshed in appearance.

Treatment with the erbium laser is best suited to patients wanting to treat superficial to moderately deep lines and wrinkles, sun damage and acne scarring and fairer skin types. Darker skin types are more likely to have complications from treatment such as hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation. Certain skin types will require preparatory skin care prior to treatment such as topical retinoids or hydroquinone to help reduce the risk of these complications.
