Planning Your Surgery with Dr Imani

Patients from across Australia and internationally may choose to travel to Perth for facial plastic surgery with Dr Imani. To assist with planning, our clinic offers Telehealth consultations and guidance for travel and accommodation.

Step 1: Book a Telehealth Consultation

To help minimise travel prior to your procedure, Dr Imani offers preliminary consultations via phone or video.

What’s involved:

  • A general discussion of your concerns, goals and suitability for surgery.

  • Fee: $400, payable at the time of booking.

  • Please email facial photographs (front, side, oblique, base, looking up/down) to: pm@facial-plasticsurgery.com.au

  • You will also be asked to complete a new patient questionnaire prior to your appointment.

Preparing for Your Surgery in Perth

Step 4: Arriving in Perth

Once you arrive in Perth, you will meet with Dr Imani for a comprehensive in-person consultation. This is an important step to finalise your treatment plan and ensure all your questions are answered.

Important pre-operative instructions:

  • Avoid smoking and all nicotine products for at least 2 weeks before and after surgery.

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory medications (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen, naproxen, indomethacin) two week pre and post surgery.

  • These guidelines will be discussed during your initial consultation and outlined in your pre-operative information pack.

Step 5: On the Day of Surgery

You will receive specific instructions about:

  • What time to arrive at the hospital.

  • Where to go for admission.

  • Meeting the anaesthetist and surgical team.

Please note:

  • If your procedure is performed as day surgery, you must have a responsible adult accompany you home.

  • Hospital policy does not allow patients to leave alone after a general anaesthetic, you will need adult supervision for the first 24 hours post anaesthesia.

Step 6: After Your Surgery

Most patients go home the same day. Some procedures may require an overnight stay, depending on the type and complexity of surgery.

Post-operative care includes:

  • A follow-up review with Dr Imani or a nurse.

  • Detailed instructions on medications, dressings, and recovery.

  • Prescribed medications provided through the hospital pharmacy, if applicable.

Follow-up schedule:

  • A phone call from our staff the day after surgery.

  • An in-clinic appointment with Dr Imani (timing will vary depending on your individual recovery).

  • Ongoing support may include a mix of phone and in-person appointments throughout the year.
