Xanthelasma Treatment

Effectively remove cholesterol deposits

Xanthelasma removal is the treatment of yellow coloured cholesterol deposits around the upper and lower eyelids. Erbium lasers can be successfully used to remove these cholesterol deposits. The procedure involves resurfacing the area that is affected and removing the lesion with high precision. Another possible method of treatment is with radiofrequency ablation. Radiofrequency devices can cut and coagulate tissue without causing much heat energy transfer to the surrounding skin. This method is best used to treat larger xanthelasma lesions. Occasionally surgery is required.
